Kaitlyn Bertholet

Kaitlyn Bertholet is the local manager of the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Central Oregon. Over her past five years with the Alzheimer's Association Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter, Kaitlyn has strived to help individuals and families facing all forms of dementia in navigating their journey by providing essential education, support, and connection with community resources. As a Walk Manager, Kaitlyn now has the honor of amplifying the voices and experiences of those impacted by Alzheimer's and all other dementias - ensuring every person knows that their story matters and they are not alone.

Kaitlyn's personal and professional experiences have fueled her passion of advocating for those living with dementia and their care partners, connecting families with much needed resources, and reducing stigma of dementia through education. She wholeheartedly believes in the Alzheimer's Association's vision and hopes that you too will be inspired to join in the fight for a world without Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

2-year biking trip from Alaska to Argentina

In the last seven years, Bend’s Kristen and Ville Jokinen have biked from Alaska to Argentina, from Finland to Croatia, through Spain and, most recently, across both islands of New Zealand.

Throughout their travels and adventures, one theme has emerged — the kindness of people.

It’s a major part of Kristen’s book “Joy Ride: A Bike Odyssey from Alaska to Argentina,” which is set to be released on May 2.
